    House Style Notes

Second Colonial Revival    Bungalow

This very unique house may be disserved by being categorized under the Second Colonial Revival. The roofline is its most notable aspect that does not follow traditional Colonial lines. Severely hipped but extending almost all the way down to the first floor ceiling on the sides gives it very unique sort of "hat-like" quality - something that can be traced back to early bungaloid forms. It had clapboard siding, traditional 6-pane divided light casement windows with shutters, and a classic entry all at home in the Second Colonial or American Colonial styles. However, a 2003-4 remodel has removed the full-length french doors and replaced the rest of the windows with faux-divided light alternates and all the wide-clapboard siding was replaced with stucco.
